
Djoudj
 National Bird Sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It lies on the
 southeastern edge of the River Senegal in Senegal, north east of 
St-Louis. Provide a variety of wetland habitats which prove very popular
 with migrating birds. Located in the Senegal River delta, the Djoudj 
Sanctuary is a wetland than 16,000 ha, which consists of a large lake 
surrounded by streams, ponds and backwaters.

Establish
 a living but fragile sanctuary for some 1.5 million birds, such as the 
white pelican, purple heron, African spoonbill, great egret and the 
cormorant. There are about 400 species of birds and other wildlife that 
inhabit the park.
