Amazon Rainforest, also known as Amazonia, the Amazon jungle or the Amazon Basin, encompasses seven million square kilometers (1.7 billion acres), though the forest itself occupies about 5.5 million square kilometers (1.4 billion acres), located in nine countries. Amazon represents over half the remaining rainforests on the planet and is composed of the channel's largest and most species-rich tropical rain forest in the world. Amazon River is the world's largest river by volume, with total river flow greater than the top ten in the world combined.
It contributes about one-fifth of total world river flow and has the largest drainage basin on the planet. Not a single cross bridge Amazon.
